the first part around Exx has the VIN and bin type DMTY, which will be FF if it has been cleared. So yours still has the info in it, so you should be able to full flash the pcm and plug in with vats enabled and it should work. If that area was FF then you'd need vats off as it wouldn't contain the link info or you would flash it, then relink with tech2.

Attempting to use the flash tool to tune a VS V8 with 531 manual pcm via your usb aldl connector

Do I need to do any wiring to the pcm to enable read as I cannot connect?

I HAVE A ds1245Y WITH vs v8 enhanced $A5 loaded and the car runs no worries. Just no comms between laptop and nv ram

Any help is appreciated

check that you have 12v's and ground properly at the ALDL plug, as for checking the data wire, not much you can do there (other than it working) but you can check that the connectors are all in the plug and such I guess.

so the flashtool isn't connecting to it I assume ?

what settings are you using in the config ?

I'll confirm pinouts are good now.

These are the settings I'm using

531 is series 3, which is a VT pcm... try the VT settings.

Good call mate. The VS bin only being 64k will still get looked up in the same place only anyways wouldn't it? I think the jumpers on the NVRAM dictate that and the Flash tool options don't accomodate for VT

I may be having a blond moment but not sure what else to try there

Pin outs are all good too btw

Try "VS V8 on Bench" and change to F5 for device ID, or "VS Eco or S/C on Bench". Without seeing the log from the flashtool its possibly the BCM not responding.

VS series 3 are 128k bins.

My bad, yes 128k is right

Tried to connect flash as Ecotec bench and we're in business
