Well the newer 777 injectors flow slightly more than the 973s....

Im just searching and found this thread

"You will just need to change "Map A: Run A/F Param - Displacement/inj flow rate (Litres/Grams per sec)" to accomodate the new flow rate and fuel pressure. Usually its best to keep stock fuel pressure and then adjust the current value up or down in the tune by the % change in flow rate to begin with, then verify with the wideband and tweak to suit."

So is it best to run the 777s at 3.5 bar or at 3 bar? I am thinking of using a 3.5 bar regulator and just changing the tune to suit the slightly higher flowing injectors...

All good info :).

How much more flow? Ecotec is 3.5bar fuel pressure from memory. What does the VT 5 litre run?

Ok thanks. Just popped into my head now. All this is in the memcal id tool.
Fuel pressures injector flow rate and part numbers.

VS V6 / VT V8
0 280 150 973 (EV1)
20.21 LB/HR 207 CC/MIN 152.8 G/MIN 12 Ohm 3.0bar OP

VT, VX, VY V6
0 280 155 777 (EV6)
21.44 LB/HR 219.85 CC/MIN 162 G/MIN 12 Ohm 3.5bar OP

so should i swap a 3.5 bar regulator from a vx v6 into the vt v8 and run the 777 injectors? Ideally after a smooth idle and low rpm power delivery.

VT - VY V6 run the 777 @ 3.5bar
VS V6 runs the 973 @ 3.0bar

they both flow practically the same, only 6 cc/min difference, but if you run the 777 @ 3.0bar then they will flow less. So if you want to run the 777 make sure it's at 3.5bar and just copy the injector battery offset table over from a V6 tune to the V8 tune and should be good to go.

They are both 3.5, buick is 3 bar. Have a look at the stamp on the regs.
I'm the director of VSH (Vlad's Spec Holden), because HSV were doing it ass about.

Urrg, doing my head in.

Trying to work out Injector flow rate mS/Gram for the AL3-F7A

Checking the bin/xdfs for VS and VT V6s

Shows
361.328 ms/gram for CKUL4113 VS V6 '793 injectors (20.21LB/Hr 207cc/min)

361.33 ms/gram for CXWL1932 VT V6 '777 injectors (21.44LB/Hr 219.35cc/min)

213.87 ms/gram for CNPM3196 VT V6 SC '868 (37.3LB/Hr 382.59cc/min)

213.867ms/gram CKUM4116 VS V6 SC '811 (data says 34.3LB/Hr 360cc/min)

What then is the value to enter in 'Injector flow rate" for the Al3-F7A FoMoCo injectors? 32LB/hr @ 39psi / 3.5bar

I thought I worked it out long ago... but on checking, nope.

Any help would be great.

Cheers.

I had a similar issues trying to do the conversion with some errors coming up because the Gm/s or lbs were not defined if they were heptane or petrol for either stock or those injectors and multiple stock figures depending on source of the data varied some amount too.

In the end my final figure and effort was all in vain, the VE of the engine was double just about over stock so I needed to bring the injector rate back to stock values (about 2x the value for the same injectors) so it didn't run at like 30:1 (estimated) AFRs lol
