Tried swapping the reluctor polarity?

yeah that was changed also strange issues.....freaking other cars Ignition module decided to cark it also

When the car finally ran it rich as anything and if you got it to run ok it would start like it was too advanced but if you turned the dizzy back so it started fine it would run horrible!

That doesnt sound like a problem with the ignition module but more with the reference angle and/or the tune as a whole not running. Eg the tune is running at 60 degrees and the ignition module at 10, so your always 50 degrees out at crank or run, depending how you have it set, and the richness might be a bad edit or write with the car running on backup resistors which do way over fuel.

i ended up getting i think it was a ford 351 ?? rotor button (i have a box with part number somewhere), and from memory that was all it needed.

obviously remove the vacuum and mechanical advance and lock the dizzy.

Awesome mate, thank you for sharing, so its all up and running with no problems? is it just a case of wiring it up and installing it, or is there abit more setting up involved?

yeah a few wiring mods to suit it instead of the original ignition module, also the wires are in a very different spot nothing too hard though.

you also need to change the reference angle to suit.

going to be revisiting this on my new 5L...wanted to verify how you locked the dizzy just a matter of taking springs out tack welding it and also tack welding the reluctor?
want to double check before putting it in...I will also double check the reference angle and make sure its 10. I think my last attempt may have been related to the knock sensor..
Now I have to go hunting through the garage for the dizzy.
