What is this in my 808?

Post by psyolent »

]I got a pile of ECUs years back, in my throwing out of most of my shit ; I found this. WTF is it? Any idea?
Two wires soldered to the 808 with an adapter for USB comms. The ECU is labelled like its from the US of A in a big way, but, still an 808.

Thats a good question. Can you see what that USB board is doing? Surely its not for programming the flash. It is a comms board instead? Whats on the back side of it?

Actually I reckon that usb board is some kind of a comms interface, probably that white connector on the back of the board goes back to the main board for serial. so its some kind of non-real time interface.

will pull it apart tonight and see if its got any identifiers on it. i know the two wires from the 2 wire header from the comms board go to just in front of where the memcal is ; not sure whats there on an 808 so will be interesting to see :)

as close as i could get with shitty phone. that interface is soldered on. the empty header looks like SPI for that little chip which i am guessing is similar to a max232.

Yeah my guess is that is one of the boards Festy used to make. Its a nice design. eeprom on board, and comms module built in.

But 2015 date???

It’s nice to be “all in one” but surely the memcal standoff isn’t up to plugging and unplugging of the USB without connection dramas?
