Post by yoheer »

HI. I've got Hypertech Max Energy 32000
And this crap is locked =)
Does anybody has a file to reflash it? Or thee is a way to unlock it.
I'm interested to make it alive.

So it's "Married" to someone's PCM?
If someone figures this out, I'm sure a LOT of people will be happy.
I understand that it costs upwards of $200 to "Unmarry" them!
Here where I am, there are lots of various "Tuners" on Facebook Marketplace that have this exact same issue and they are for sale cheap - like $50.00 or so.

Everything that is required is firmware. File for microprocessor. It is read-protected, im sure 99%
I've almost done a trick, but made a mistake and tried to download strategies that differs from Married car.
Anyway getting firmware is the best way

Update!
There is external eeprom
AT45DB321D
All firmware is there
The device can't be identified by PC withou eeprom
I tried to read it with tl866 but I couldn't do it.
Who has a gm hypertech and can try to read eeprom?

Looks like SPI flash from what the datasheet says.
Might need to hold the CPU reset line low when trying to read the external SPI flash.

It seems that 2 capacitors are requiered. I'll try but if there is sense in it? The device is locked. I dont think that we can make changes in this dump to unlock it.
Who has an unmarried unit? To get a dump.

capacitors are just to keep voltage levels stable. A stable supply will maintain that.

If SPI is locked with a custom password (Not common at all), then you will need to sniff the SPI lines when the CPU powers up to see the data traffic to/from the flash memory to capture the password.

Typically external SPI memory is not 'locked', since it needs to be read by the connected processor. Whether the data in the flash memory will help is a different question.

I am assuming these marry to the cars VIN? If so, it might be easier to change the VIN.. use the programmer.. then change it back to the cars VIN.

It's too late. At first I should have checked what OS is used in the device. But I just changed the vin in the car. It tried to update it, but OS were different. And now it is in "wait" condition if I'm tryin to get back to stock. And I can't update it via pc because the software says that i have to finish flashing at first.

I've read the flash. The Verification can't be passed too after reading
I tried to install a new blank chip. Update software gives me S/N =0
After flashing a new chip with original dump (with bad verification) the situation is the same.
With the original chip I can see the serial number.
And I can't erase some sectors in the new chip. Erase protected now
Should I blank original chip? Protected areas wont be erased.
Thoughts?
