Difference between VS and VT-VX V6 injectors

Post by The1 »

Mine are getting on a bit now, changed mine over a while ago with another set of second hand ones, there prob hitting the 400,000k mark now though, my vs v6 hasn't done that many km's though

I was going to put some newer injectors in, i had heard people putting vt-vx ones in, im not sure on part numbers or specification differences seeing there all ecotecs it should work?

Is the flow rate different? Some people have mentioned the newer injectors have better spray for atomization.

Well i found this page http://www.scribd.com/doc/23641354/Inje ... -flow-data, i got the numbers off my injectors and found a few sets on ebay for vt-vx and got the number for them there, 150 973 being vs 155 777 being vx, looks as if the resistance and connectors are all the same, the flow is slightly down, not sure what design type means, the comments also say "Long Body" they would be physically the same length though?

Code: Select all

Part Number	G/MIN @ 3 Bar Flow	Coil Resistance Design Type Connector Comments
0 280 150 973 152.8 12.0 EV 1 1 287 013 003
0 280 155 777 150.0 12.0 EV 6 1 287 013 003 Long Body

i'm sure there has to be a difference with the EV1 -> EV6 but im not sure what it is, i thought that was the different connectors but your info seems to say otherwise.

from what ive read so far they did give there ev6 design a new plug type, but they still made them with the old plug type to retain backward compatability, that being said ive found on several sites saying ford sold connectors to people so you could put the new type in the older cars in the US if they wanted. Perhaps the EV1's were not being made anymore hence the reason they were doing it.

I found this picture on the net, i wonder whats available in the ev14 and what the differences are with those.

Well i got emails back from injector places saying that they are the same to so they should work, i was looking at the table for the ev14 injectors but there so new no one has any yet, it also seems if you get the long version of the newer injectors which are the same size they all have the ev1 connector on them as all the newer cars i guess are using the smaller injectors the long ones are just for people who want new injectors which replace the old ev1's i guess.

I sent an email to bosch asking them what the offical replacement for the the 0 280 150 973 EV1 injector is

I got an email back saying to use EV6 0 280 156 378, i havn't been able to find any information on it on the web so i have now replied again asking if the vt-vx 0 280 155 777 injector is also of the same spec.

I found a excel table on the web listing injector differences but the 378 bosch recomended didn't have specs listed but atleast we can see the difference between the vs and vx injectors, seems to be "recomended" fuel type and spray angle. The 378 has 20deg so maybe that's why they recomend it over the 777 in the vx, i wonder why the ecotecs didn't use 378 then instead of 777?
