If you can't be a good example, be a horrible warning.

I have an EH ute I am doing up. 186 red motor. I also have a VK EFI head, manifold and anciliaries. I think you can guess where I am going with all this :D .

Sound familiar ?

Very! you will need to use the Blue/Black head gasket. The coolant passages are different on the manifold side, use the 12port head gasket as a template on the block to drill passages in the red block to match. The original passages in the red block need blanking off as there is no meat on the 12port face to seal them off with the gasket.....i just used brass pipe plugs on mine. As a side note if you are going to play with cams i reccommend machining the inlet spring seats down .100" to match the exhaust (pleny of meat before water, i drilled right through a stuffed one to check) give the rotators the backhand salute in favour of a proper retainer and then you can use any spring for a 308 or SBC with a 1.7' installed height
Build it, Race it, Break/Bend it ; Repeat.

Definitely the starfire rods from the blue motor but chuck the stock bolts for ARP ones 11/32" sbc ones do the trick and are reasonably priced due to the volume produced for the chev guys. Dont mix up pushrods the 3.3 ones arent surface hardened and guideplates eat them real fast if you go the early adjustable rocker route. Personally i'd stick with the 186, few less cubes-bit less torque but you can rev the living crap out of them way beyond where the 202 3.3 will let go a piston and they sound mean screaming at 7000rpm :punk:
