VS V8 Injector Voltage Line ?

Post by Holden202T »

Ok, in the past i have used the injector voltage line monitor wire to input other sensor (eg. the map sensor) on a vs v6 to log it in the data stream and this worked fine, simply remove the injector line monitor wire from the plug and put in my own one going to my device.

SOOO decided i'd do the same thing on my mates VS V8 to use as an input for wideband analog input .... problem is it didn't work!

at first i though the conversion equation for the wideband input was wrong, but then i turned the wideband off (cut power) and the sensor was still displaying a number!!

put the equation back to what it should be and the sensor was reading the same as the battery voltage!

D7 was the wire i removed and it was red as per the wiring diagram ....

so my question is, does anyone know what might be going wrong here ? i've checked over and over and can't for the life of me find an answer .... unless there is another wiring diagram that i don't know about ?

I noticed when putting vs v8 manual harness into a vr it had an extra wire that wasn't used i think it was pink.
I have the vs factory workshop manual on cd somewhere i will have a look.

I think holden 202 is using an auto ecm as manual does not have this option.
Have you tried earthing D7 and seeing what value is output to datastream.

yes thats correct, vs v8 auto .... actually using a VR V6 pcm with the BWCS code in the VS V8 memcal.

haven't tried grounding the pin ... but with nothing connected to the pin at all its still giving battery voltage .... but that could just be something with my scanner pro def settings

a vr auto chip i had used d8 to ground to switch tunes if that helps any.
Their are 3 options when i searched for d7
Says d7 is oxygen sensor signal input in one and injector voltage monitor line on the other
and not used on the other 1.
I think that covers vr and vs maybe auto and manual on the vr vs service manual

the vr and vs v8 code is different to the ecotec code and checks for errors on the monitor line. It gets defaulted to a fixed value if its out of range. I think it is related to battery voltage, but will need to check that when i get home.

well that might explain it then, i also noticed when it was removed that the engine light came on!!

maybe its not going to work on a v8 like it does on the ecotec! bugger...

might need to find another sensor we can do without ;)
