Vt series 1 loom onto series 2

Post by Gts.300 »

Hi all, I have a problem with starting Vt as I've installed Vt l67 series 1 loom onto Vt series 2 car, I'm missing one plug which is located on top of brake booster, ive read now that there is some difference in the 3 connectors going into bcm, help will be greatly appreciated
Cheers!

For memory the differences in BCM wiring only relate to interior illumination and HVAC. Series 2 uses an interior illumination relay but series 1 doesn't or something.

See if you can get a wiring diagram for the starter relay for series 1 and 2 and compare the difference.

I'm 99% sure it won't be VATS/BCM preventing the starter working

If you don't have any luck I can probably get the diagrams and have a look when I go back to work on Monday.

Thanks again Pman, need to find difference in the 3 engine connectors behind drivers side strut (series1 to 2) if any one has any info, don't really want to bypass starter as not sure if anything else is different

yep. i came across the same problem some time ago.
i ended up getting the right loom to solve it though.
if i remember rightly there was a ground not getting to the start relay or something similar.

Yeah cool, I can't find one at moment, going to have a look at it tomorrow, might trace pins see if I can figure out :( , does anyone have the pin out for the 3 engine connectors?

Hi all, just started with bridging pins 5 and 6 for fault codes, but light won't flash and it does work when ignition turned on, so can't get any codes, next thing I found was series 1 pin f14 is the single wire that has little plug on top of brake booster which series 2 does not have, series 2 f14 goes to engine connector number 2 on top row last pin to outside of vehicle, can someone with wiring diagrams and electrical tech tell me what's required for it to start and have check engine light working.

Btw not sure cause series 1 engine connector is occupied on the same pin but can't find where that is yet

You won't get codes from a VT by bridging wires like the previous models.
