Vz ls1 charging issues

Has anyone one come across charging issues with the pcm controlled alternators in the vz ss it's had a brand new alternator battery's fine wiring back to the pcm is fine wiring to battery is fine and all the grounds are good but voltage still only jumps to 14v every couple of seconds the straight back down to battery voltage

I've only ever had one (albeit VE) faulty PCM cause similar problems, it is always a faulty alternator regulator, was the one you fitted genuine or aftermarket?

You could cut/disconnect the field control wire then the alternator will charge constant, like the non PCM controlled type.

Aftermarket oex unit was wondering if it went full charge or turned off with the field winding disconnected will give that ago PPP the pin out of the back of the plug and see if it starts charging good

Ok tried disconnecting that wire didn't do anything tried the other just incase I got the wrong pin still nothing so brand new alternator dead talked to a couple of guys and they said that they've had nothing but issues with these aftermarket alternators and recommend to use genuine only

That will fix it, that is why I don't use OEX anymore...
