VT V8 AUTO - PCM wiring

Post by JA2Z »

Hi all,

What's E9? It's populated with a pink wire, so I'm assuming 12V+ of some kind?

Here's my conversion sheet I have made from all the wiring schematics and pinouts I could find for VT V8 Series 1 Autos and VS V8 Series 1 & 2 Autos:

If anyone knows what E9 is... let me know. BCM 12V+? Ign 12V+? I'm not sure at the moment.

It is the ignition signal, it appears to be connected twice to A4 and E9.

Actually I should clarify, Im looking at kalmaker docs, A4 is marked "IGN" and E9 is "IGN:Feed" so your probably right in thinking it feeds out to something else like the BCM. Cant see any reference beyond that, though.

One more Question:... are all the Sensor GNDs linked, or are they isolated from each other in closed loops with each REF voltage?

TCT/IAT GND = ECT/TPS GND ?? etc... or no?

This is general information, im not that closely across the later model wiring but some are merged and some are split. Grounds that relate to only one signal are usually named with 'low' eg in 12P ref high and ref low, where low is the ground side. Other times its shared between a couple of sensors, in which case you'll just need to trace the wires and pin connections on the wiring diagram. This is why there are many grounds on the pcm. In practice they all end up wired together but its done this way to improve signal integrity.
