Vs V6 to Vx V6 engine wiring conversion

Post by wazaspad »

Hi guys
im in a spot of bother im currently updating my engine harness and ECU from vs v6 to vx v6, i have noticed lot of differences
I have 70% of the wires figured out but having troubles with the Vs v6 clear 8 pin plug"next to ecu"- brake warning Br/Wh wire, Check engine Pink wire, Check engine cluster Br/Wh wire.
Grey 8 pin plug " -Temp gauge green wire, Oil pressure warning blue wire
The vx v6 harness does not have any of these wires for oil warning, engine light, water temp etc
If anyone can help out on some light on this would be a huge help, taking me days and hours to get my head around this

Can the BCM be deleted?

Cheers in advance

Vx sends all the temp and oil pressure light to the dash via aldl

Yes but you will need to delete vats in the ecu

Why not just use the VS PCM and loom?

Maybe its not something you want to do, but to put it on the table you can buy a couple of components and solder them in to convert an auto pcm to a manual one. Details of that modification are here viewtopic.php?f=7&t=1377&start=40#p15740 it might be easier overall.
Have you read the FAQ? For lots of information and links to significant threads see here: http://pcmhacking.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=1396

When is comes to soldering components like them i stand clear not something i fond of, i just want to delete the vs PCM as i have been told that using a auto PCM i may get some issues, idling problems are one of them, i got a VX engine wiring loom and PCM for free so im installing that, but when it comes to the plugs next to the brake booster some are different colour wires and on the VS dash plug next to the PCM the data and BCM wires are the only ones usable. Its check engine lamp, water temp, oil warning lamp im having troubles as the VX PCM don't use them
