Removing wires from DFI plug

As the title suggests i want to remove wires from a VT DFI connector but have found so far i can only get the pins to release and push forward from the connector. Is this how they are designed or is there another trick to get them to release and push out from the back of the connector?

Since I am in the states, I have no idea what a VT is. Can you post a pic of the connector? Very likely you are dealing with a pull to seat connector/terminal.

Nope, they come forward only, you need to cut them off and crimp on new ones if you plan to rewire the connector.
I'm the director of VSH (Vlad's Spec Holden), because HSV were doing it ass about.

Ahh cheers that explains it thanks, crimping on new ones does this suggest u can buy replacement pins?

Easier to buy the short harness for the DFI.
That way you have a tight new plug as well:

I think it's this one but I would have to double check.

Only problem is the shipping from the USA is a killer, but I usually buy everything to make a whole harness from scratch to make it worth it.

RS Components have a range of these terminals, if they are indeed the right ones. They have 600 for local delivery.

As I mentioned above, replacing the whole plug is much simpler and more effective.

They have a range of other Delphi Connectors/ Terminals as well if anyone is interested :)

Have you narrowed the problem down to this?
i cant see the photo for this one? but my main goal is to run wires externally with brand new cam and crank sensor connectors that run to the DFI then to the ECU so i can fault find a potential wiring issue from this thread i posted months ago viewtopic.php?f=7&t=7051 Just want to try it this way rather then pulling the whole engine harness out then find out its not the issue but im almost certain im on the right track with it now.

The terminal I linked to in my second post is the 150.2 series, however, the p/n you are looking for is 12089290.
Just checked PEC Australia in their eBay listings and it is no longer showing (from above picture). I have sent them a message re availability.
Holden used to sell the DFI harness under p/n 92143911. Worth a try.

Hmm im liking this idea more so using a whole new connector, since it will only be used as tests at 1st, would save me cutting wires i dont need to on half of that original connector. cheers for the in depth info much appreciated it.
