I agree with Charlescrown, wheel speed sensor. Particularly passenger side front. Check the plug connection inside the engine bay on the chassis rail (below the air box i think). I had the same problem with my 93 vp calais. No abs light till a few minutes of driving. I found the plug had become brittle and terminals wouldn't make proper contact once plug became hot. I fixed this by ensuring proper connection then taping the plug with insulation tape. The abs module does a self test everytime you start to drive. If it was an issue, the abs light would come on straight away.

I also had and abs light issue with my vt after a few mins of driving. Turned out that my wheel was so badly buckled that it would throw the abs light.

Just in case you don't already have this info. This is from my old Gregory's manual for vn/vp. Sorry for poor quality.

This is the diagnostic pinout used on the VR ABS ECU. Perhaps someone might recognise the diagnostics and tell you what to do with them. My guess is pin 30 is earthed and the ABS light starts flashing. Please note I have no idea if the VP uses the same ABS ECU.

Vtxu8 thanks for those scans.
Got any scans showing what the gap for the abs sensor to ring should be

I'm sure I have an ABS computer for that model but first is to find it amongst the pile. I bought it as a spare for my VR. You need to get hold of the wiring diagram for your model.

Thanks heaps for that
I like how remote the wiring for the abs system is like you could take it and adapt onto any other car by look of it.
