tuning help?

Post by drift-it »

hi guys,

so i've had success tuning my trans in my l67 vy calais and decided to have ago a getting rid of up to 9 degrees k/r at 5600rpm during 1-2 gear change. so i set the main advance vs rpm (extension) to 0 in the range of 5200-5600 at 850-900mgc.

this worked! i no longer get knock at gearchange. however i started adding advance back in that area and im upto 8-9degrees advance but in the log the advance still goes to 0 in that area? do i need to go higher or am i missing something?

ill add a log of before when i got knock, a log after i zeroed the advance and a log of added advance. also ill add the bin with the 8degrees advance.

cheers,
zac

the log with corvette servo is before any tuning.
log 3 is after timing was zeroed.
log 6 is with 8-9degrees added timing. but advance still dipping to zero

and the bin file is with the added timing and is currently in the car.

They call it that but it's not really what's being intended. It's a main table and knock retard table. if you get knock it goes and use's the low table for a period till knocking and retard no longer exist by a certain amount then it will go back to the high table.

well i jsut did another log with the low octane advance between 3-5degrees and it still went to 0 at 5,600! starts going down hill from 8degrees at 5,200. and still no k/r.

the only thing i can notice is it corresponds with the trans slip. trans starts slipping, advance starts going down. trans stops slipping advance is going up...

100% tps, wot as it gets to 5200 timing starts dropping from 8degrees and by 5600 its at 0.
