EPROM vs EEPROM

So what the diff between an EPROM and EEPROM? ( I know the E is electronic erasable)
In relation to tuning a vs ecotec, removing vats?

basically if you want to do a one time change and nothing else, ie. remove vats, then an eprom is fine aslong as you have the uv eraser.

if you want to make regular changes to a tune then an eeprom is much less time consuming and is a 2 second job to erase whereas a eprom is 15 odd minutes to erase in a uv eraser.
