So iv got the chips burning ok but cant get it to run, the other tune had the vats turned off and iv done that to the vr v87000286crane tune. Does it have to be a vs tune as the one i pulled says its a vr tune also? Im doing my head in lol

Try burning a stock bin to confirm that the burner and hardware is working OK, then try the crane bin maybe? Vr and vs work so long as vats is off, later vs does have a revised auto gbox so watch out for tcc malfs and you can't mix man 32k and auto 64k bins.

Ill have another go this arvo. Iv burn other chip and its been fine, just not this one lol. Yep its an early vs box and was definatly an auto tune. I was struggling to use the xdf in memcal id tool as it wasnt very well labeled for a rookie like myself. Could it also be to do with checksome or the device id?
Cheers

Yeah like most bins just change program id to AA to bypass the checksum.

So i got it going, it ran pretty well for a while then started flooding and carrying on ect. I think the eprom is in shit shape as its been erased many times trying to get this working. Can i fit an EEPROM in the origanal chip as it would make my life easyer.. If so can i fit it to a vn v6 chip? The v8 doesnt run a knock sensor

Yes, and yes. Just need to mod the netres for v8. https://pcmhacking.net/forums/view ... f=11&t=214 and install an SST 27sf512 or similar.
Have you read the FAQ? For lots of information and links to significant threads see here: http://pcmhacking.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=1396
