Vp nvram offsets and ect

Post by Jervies »

Having problem with a tune on a vp turbo 6, its running in limp mode and not of the nvram. Iv tried offsetting at x8000 but it fails the verification in the william. Iv tried the standard bin thats stacked? At no offset and still no good. Any help would be great. I cant give any logs as the usb is not working

For 12P offset 8000 is bank 1 and 18000 is bank 2, as you found in the 12P zip file there are stacked bins - just burn that with 0 offset and it sets up both banks for you  If it fails to verify that then DS1245Y sounds like its faulty. To also confirm though, you do need to be removing the DS1245 from the nvram board to program it. USB comms wont work until the NVRAM works, you wont get data in limp mode (the red LED on the USB board will be on solid all the time too).

Im using the 12p turbo base tune. Could explain why the usb doesnt work. When i burn it at 8000 and try read it in tunerpro and all i get is 25 in the values. Comes up fine at 0000 though.

I've just found and taken a look at that tune. There is no program code in the base tune, only the calibration. Then to make matters worse its a $12P v1.0.4 calibration so you'll need to update it to v1.1.1 with the flashtool first. Then you'll need to get the ecu booting up on a stock shipped tune, then upload the v1.1.1 cal only with VL400's flash tool over USB. The fact the zip file is only 2kb raised my suspicions and looking at the contents with a hex editor confirmed.

I couldnt get it to work with the offset thing so i did some research and worked out how to stack the bin and away it went. Usb is now working and can emulate ect. Having trouble with the adx crashing tunerpro when i try connect ( i may have changed something trying to get it working im not sure) the e85 adx worked though
I started with the standard bib and changed a few things and will start tunning when we get it to a Dyno.
Thanks for the help guys!

if you think you might have changed something in the adx, just get a fresh copy. It probably is the case.
