Vs l67 memcal questions

Post by Damienharris »

Hi all I'm new to pcm hacking and wanted to know what is a good memcal to fit my car with the following ecu and also if any can identify the current memcal. My car is a vs ute with t5 gearbox with a vx l67 engine. The ecu/pcm service number is 16210672 3.8l man pcm 16231438 BSTJ barcode starts with 8614 and pink plug port 6760. Current memcal has 014 07957 B9713AB and also on the side off it has the numbers 72444 97100 1 any information would be great

No what was on the silver sticker you peeled back, not whats under it! (actually just looking at your above post looks like it may have been BSTJ?)

Think that's a Kalmaker version.

Yeah don't worry about whats under the sticker!

You need to get USB ALDL to read off the comms on the car or a programmer to read off the chip!

Until anyone knows whats on the memcal its impossible to know whats best!

Ok I have a feeling it kalmaker because I think this car was taken to al Gibbs when the conversion was done but the engine was basically stock. I have changed a few things since I bought it. Will look into finding out what is on the chip will post once have these details

If it's Kalmaker the car won't start after disconnecting the battery. If you do this as a test and the car only fires a few rpm then stalls chances are it's a Kalmaker tune of some sort.

If this is the case you'll need to do a kalmaker security reset.

Disconnect battery then reconnect.

Key to acc for 1 min then off for 1 min then start.
