trying to burn a chip with vats off but not sure what to set the old willam to

thanks yoda that's what I had but have had it fail to burn, thought it may have been wrong

I get error at 0x00013a chip = 0x30 buffer = 0x91
any help as to what the problem is would great

sounds like it's not erased properly. Do a blank check first if your burner can do that.

A lot of the factory eproms are a bit dodgy, they dont like being erased and re-written. They generally work, but sometimes it might take a couple of tries like you have found. Ive also seen 1 bit that is stuck as a 1 or 0. In that case its 50/50 if its stuck the way you need! Last time I saw it was failing the blank check, a read showed be which bit, then it wrote and passed verify as the stuck bit matched the bin. Not great, but sometimes thats your only option.

yeah I generally have 3 erased ready to go so when im done tuning they arent waiting for half an hour for me to erase and retry lol.
