Thanks for the heads up. Actually the first time using one.
Brought a cheap one. Think it's quite common. Tge drawer type with tge timer on top.

Would you think that since it passed the blank check it was ok?

Yeah, it might not be so blank at different Vdd tolerance or temperature. Could also affect the access speed or produce a metastable condition once in a blue moon. Best to comply with the spec's.

They do have a maximum total exposure limit, but it's something huge, so they don't bother putting it in the spec's.

Well, it's all Flash, EEPROM and a little F-RAM these days, but it was EPROM back in the day.
