Get the fault code out of it but I'm tipping check sum.
Id just go straight to 11P if it was me. Copy over the spark tables, afr tables and ve table and you're back to where you were.
With lots of room to easily tune!

Post up a pic of the memcal to check the new netres set up. Just to be sure.

Yeah Dylan I am going 11P for him.
Im just interested in how the checksum is corrected or disabled in tunerpro and what to look for...just curious to learn as I've never done it before....lol as you can tell.

Its a pain as the car is 100kms away and I only get details every 2nd day or so.

yeah cel will tell you what the fault is, but more than likely, AA the checksum and if it works you'll know that's your issue.

My mate said the cel flashed 12 and no other codes.
Last night I copied 11P on another memcal for him and tonight he rang back saying everything is aok, engine and trans all working fine now
I still want to do his original memcal anyway for me to learn (the checksum side of it) if doing another original memcal, but will be using 11p and 12p for proper tuning.
This was just to get him running and able to move the car.
Holden202T where do I alter/enter AA for the checksum Am I still looking in the wrong place?

Do you think he waited long enough? It flashes each code 3 times and starts with 12.

program id is the one you need, but your XDF is not setup right.....

select it in the left pane and right click on it and select "edit parameter xdf info" and in the window change output type to hex digits.

this should then show the program id as 83 instead of 131 .... from there you can enter AA .....

also AA = 170 in floating point form .... but hex digits is the right way to view it.

Thanks 202T for that info....its nice learning something new. :D
That xdf is straight off this sites Holden XDF section.

Dylan, sometimes my workmate could give me 2 different answers and can be lazy as f#ck like I would ask "have you wired in an CEL yet"
and he'd say yeah and then find out he hasn't done it yet.
I thought id help him out more so that I could learn more off here for myself, if you know what I mean. I wont even see the car

Most of my mates have old skool muscle cars or girlie suv/light trucks (no offence to anyone on here) so the only delco car I get to play with is my own munro.
I'll just do his original memcal and hand it back to him so he can finish his mates car off and move on.
Thanks for everyones help

Question time.
My mate that I do track days with has an VS 5lt man (originally SLR5000 series),the original memcal was BWFW0312.
He added the knock sensor and HSV 185KW BMZL1790 memcal.
These show up as $5A xdf but it doesn't look like there is an $5A xdf on here.
He wants to get rid of the key/barrel assembly and go with a push button start.
I assume these are just VATS disable and by-pass the key reader slip ring ??
Apart from using 12P how can I copy the original spark and VE maps without the $5A xdf?
cheers

Are you sure you didn't mistake it as $A5?

Thats on the page and even I have a copy which I downloaded from there.
I'm the director of VSH (Vlad's Spec Holden), because HSV were doing it ass about.

going off DR Bob's memcals info its $5A

BWFW0312 $5A 5.0L Man 16183082 / 16206305 Series II, From 6/1996

and looking in the bin it shows as that too..... but I certainly can't find an XDF that lines up 100% ....

$A5 xdf kinda has some stuff right, but I wouldn't trust it :)

$83 is similar .....

it might be just one of those ones no ones bothered with.

but yeah to answer your question if you want to run with out a key got to remove VATS ....

it would probably work with $12P and you might be able to get the VE and spark from a VR HSV ?
