Thats the right chip. You can find some on ebay, but not in bulk, and I cant vouch for quality. I reckon PA28F400BX would work as well and are easier to find, but I have not tested this. (so far, no bricks, few!)
Just for the record this is the flash IC in my bench pcm.

Ok awsome. Have u got a copy of the stock file of the chip as yet?. Also i looked on ebay found chips with that part number but they are advertised as AB28F400B5B80 so im not fully sure weather they would work or not ?. I reali wish there was chip clip available for these it would be so much easier than soldering on and off haha

Yeah that chip would work. Yes there are a couple of bins in the bin thread under "1999+ LS1"

Re: ls1 flash chip looking to buy
ok i finaly ordered some chips and took the bin off a working one and wrote it to the new one using a prom burner but it seems to not work i have a felling the offset is totally wrong for the pcm to read it ??.. has anyone else flashed to new chips and know if it needs and offset or not ?
thanks
thanks

no offsets, bin and chip are both 512kbyte. Maybe your bin is bad, but more likely to be a wiring problem.
