Re: Problem with GQ-4X
Project for today then. I am using windows 7 and yes have has and do have a few problems which I manage to overcome thanks to google. I have 10 on a tablet and have Vpecker on it and those updates (which I had turned off difficult) turned themselves back on cause so much trouble.

Re: Problem with GQ-4X
All fixed. I found out I was the administrator without a password. Called a dumbarse. Also sorted the eprom program by going into properties and ticking the box for open as admin. I have found this windows 7 changes things and am sure it unticked the box with an update. I had an issue where one day my modem kept turning off the wireless link after sleep mode and the same thing it was just a matter of ticking a box to keep it linked. It had been working fine for 6 months before it started dropping the link. Windows don't I love it. It keeps me learning.

Re: Problem with GQ-4X
I find it can be useful to run a couple of virtual machines for car stuff. Then you can have all the seperate OSs you need, and only run them when you need to, and can still have all the security updates on the main OS. Seems to be a nice balance between features and security, and the need for many different generations of OS for different tools. You can usually do a snapshot too if your worried about something happening and want to roll back any changes to a known good state.
Having said that I run the GQ-4X on the main windows 10 os, with the signed windows 10 drivers they released. I dont need to do anything special for that combination. Might be because the drivers are signed though and the problem your seeing might be because the older ones are not.

That's OK for you smart It guys but well out of my realm. I'll look into it but not my area of expertise.

Here is a direct link taken from http://www.mcumall.com/comersus/store/m ... wnload.asp to the windows 10 64bit signed drivers. Run as administrator to install.

Re: Problem with GQ-4X
Yea that's where I got the latest. I am using 32 bit and it's working fine now with the run as admin box ticked in the program properties.
