what's the originals? i thought they were FM27C010 which is fairchild, which is what they are detected as in my GQ4X and they are 120ns. Ive even got 150ns atmel ones here that work fine in my car. :?

Here's the direct link if anyone wants to look;

http://www.futurlec.com/cgi-bin/search/search.cgi

But why is there 2 different 100ns & how would you know if there not fast enough?

EDIT: have to type in nm27c010 the search page, as was pointed out the search doesn't actually show whats on my screen (WOOPS didn't test sorry!)

what speed are the standard one do you know Rob? can't find a spec sheet on them anywhere, would they be 70ns? Everything ive read so far points to National Semiconductor and Fairchild being the same chip.

Hey vx that page just links to a search page.

Was good timing (no pun intended) as I was going to do some data and address line testing on a VS PCM comparing it to a VT PCM. But can also check what speed you need. First there is an extract from the 27c010 datasheet showing how the speed of the memory is measured, then the following 4 screen cap are of a VS Ecotec PCM. The tCE time can be no slower than 222nS as seen in the third screen cap where E clocks in the data, but for a reliable system you would want something faster than this so 150nS would be about as slow as you would want to go.
