Re: VP 304
I'll have to double check but think I do 97-92 with a stock 92 thermostat.

and a filter, will run in on 98 tho
Re: VP 304
Yeah I wouldn't go under 82 for the thermostat, that's standard for V8s (pre-EFI only as I recently discovered!).
Have been mucking with the fan temp in mine, on at 95 with an 82 thermostat seems to work well and not have them running too often. You could go a couple of degrees cooler perhaps but much more than that and they will be running near constantly.

Re: VP 304
interesting to know, so when you say pre efi do you mean VL carby motor ?
No matter what the question is, the answer is always more horsepower!

Re: VP 304
Well I always thought that all V8s '68 to '98 were the same (aftermarket listings seem to list only the one) but I put my foot in it last time as it turns out that at least EFI engines have a hotter thermostat so wouldn't like to guarantee it especially since the VL was a changeover in so many ways. I used to own one but not standard and I have a lot more to do with 70s era Holdens, if it were me I'd run the 82 in it though
