Mazda B2600 ECU Needed G612

Post by ralcool »

And they are a dying breed, a dud Rubicon capacitor eventually leaks and usually screws the pcb.

The one I have here is previously repaired, and won't fire the injectors.

So, it turns out 89-95 models use the same ecu, the later (and interchangeable) G618/630 won't fit

Its a mitubishi branded box, G612-18-881

Cheers if anyone can help locate one.

ralcool is it a multi layer PCB do you know? thats repairable (albeit time consuming) and those tracks are nice and large. a good washdown and replacement of dud caps should see that happy again?

My strategy for r covering these types of boards are:

Remove dead electrolytic caps
Soak for about 10 minutes in warm distilled water.
Gently scrub with a soft toothbrush using a solution of 10% vinegar with a small amount of dishwashing liquid.
Repeat with a solution of bicarbonate of soda.
Rinse well with distilled water.
Rinse well with methylated spirits twice
Air dry and examine under strong light for remaining deposits or corrosion.
Repair tracks and resolver as required.
If successful use a passivation spray for protection.

I have used this process to recover phone PCBs that have had water immersion for long periods and were left for dead. I use an ultrasonic cleaner in addition to the scrubbing if the board will fit.
