T5 - Concentric Release Bearing

Hi

Anyone fitted one of these to a T5 and done away with the cable clutch configuration on the earliers?

Wanting to fit a T5 to a VT ; and keep the hydraulics and not have the cable.

i know right. the shaft that the bearing runs on is a different dia than the GM in the fraud.
hoping big G will be in the know on this action.

yeah the bearing retainer for the Ford is like a cap and the bearing bore is in the case. Where with the Holden the retainer entirely itself houses the bearing and retainer goes into the case bore. So the case bore on the Holden is a lot bigger. The retainers and sleeve part are chalk and cheese. I think the sleeve part is a larger diameter on the Ford style retainer?

Sorry got nothing on this for you, but a lot of late model transmissions use these and most are trouble free, gives great pedal feel also.

As long as the cylinder ratio and pipe diameters is big enough they do feel and operate awesome.

yep.
pedal feel and operation improves as much of the fork ambiguity is removed by the direct operation of the CRB.
not sure on what the VT use (bore wise for the clutch MC) but the 2nd one (above) needs a 3/4" bore - with the usual speedflow and braided line vlad that should be fine.

I've experienced the exact opposite, very vague hydraulic clutches, much preferred the old cable clutch has you can feel what is happening.
