Tre what actual elm did you use and how did you set it up? I've tried this program with two different elm cables and no workie for me

I also have several Elm cables still does not work.
I loaded a 2001 Cavalier L4 2.4 tune into a pcm tried again still did not work.

has anyone been successful in using the tool on ls1 ecu's? im having trouble connecting the laptop to read the vin etc.

mine is just a run of the mill 1.3a elm cable, but I believe it's a genuine chipset, not a clone.

so I have my new cable, same as above, but is a elm327 v1.4b

I keep getting CAN ERROR, and when commanding at sh 6c 10 f1 I get ok nothing else....

can anyone shed some light as to where ive gone wrong? thanks mat

Almost any elm 327 will work with this program if you set it up correctly.
Normally all you need to do is get elm to boot up running 9600 baud.(Its covered in elm datasheet)
Then using a terminal send command ATL1.

Not sure how this seed/key application initializes its connection to the ELM. But, logically, you would have thought it would connect at the default baud rate 38400.

Guess the ELMs may have been different back in 2010 though.

Yeah a lot of the early elm versions ran the slower baud rate ,that is why people have been having success with older ones , and it must of been what planethax had when he wrote it.
