Hello, I'm having issues reading two different p01 pcm's! They are both from a v6 s10 with the 4.3. I thought at first it was because I had a guy disable vats and change some other stuff but I got another one from the junkyard and it did the same thing. Although I couldn't find one from a v8 vehicle I settle for another one from a v6. I'm currently using a bench harness setup with a vcx nano I purchased off ebay. also I've tried multiple dc power sources ranging from 11.84 volts to 16+ volts. It will not work on 4x but will upload kernel on 1x! I was able to do a test write and do a full erase and write but when I checked to see if it would read it after that it did the same thing. Also I was able to read an 02 p59 using 1x at 11.84 volts with no problem. I did notice it was held up at a certain block. Any help would be appreciated. also I'm not really worried about keeping the v6 file, so if I'm over thinking it and can just do a read over it and it will work then I'm fine with that. Here are the debug logs. Thank you!

Your power supply is pretty low as seen in the first log uploaded. I would be getting a power supply which offers 14v with at LEAST 1+amp supply.

Poor power supply = bad communication.

S0 I was able to read both of my p01 pcm's now! I had my bench harness set up with both grounds to pin#1/40 moved to just pin#60 switched power was both pin#75/19 pulled the pin#75 and left pin#19 and 12v power was pin#20/57 pulled pin#57 and left pin#20! Also changed my power to plug into a cigarette lighter port to get 12.45v but it failed still. So I went back to my laptop power supply witch is 16v and 4.5A. That apparently did the trick. I must have gotten lucky to read the p59 or unless the p01 is more finicky! also still not able to read on 4x for some reason? I'm running two switches, so maybe I will redo my bench harness and just put one in line for the switched power. Anyways thank you and Gampy for the helpful info on this and I want to thank all of you that set this system up for making this all possible to do ourselves!

I`ve tried Ironduke`s J25434 utility to brute-force it then i realized that my only Semi pass-thru deivce is openport which does not support VPW other than my obdlink LX, you aware of any BF utility that supports vpw?

That sounds about right, I think that matches this: Bench Harness Schematic
Two switches are ok, one for battery and one for ignition, remember it is important to be able to turn off ignition leaving battery on, just like a car ...

Personally I think 16v is a touch high, but hey, what the heck, if it works it works!

I'm curious about that VCX Nano, that's the second one recently that fails 4x, they are widely used.

I feel like my old VX nano used a dedicated J1850 transceiver just like the ECUs. The issue with these is getting stock is getting extremely hard.
I wonder if the newer ones are trying to transistors/mosfets instead due to parts shortage, and they are unable the handle the 4x speed?
