name should have warned me off. lol
its the written instructions that are wrong. it looks like he has it wired correctly in pics but has counted from the back of the plug and called pin 2 pin 7.

Hi all,

Definitely looks like he is counting from the back side of the connector.
Using pin 7 for Data, and pin 9 for power!

Hi All,
I'm brand new at this... I have background in digital electronics and software development.

I'm working on an ECU from a '99 GMC Yukon 5.7 with a 4L60 trans installed in a 1982 Jeep CJ8 Scrambler. I need to delete VATS and bank 1 & 2 O2 Sensor codes. I read in the getting started posts that on the more expensive end the OBDLink LX was the Preferred device, so I bought one.

Problems:

My initial attempt at connecting my HP laptop to the ECU I was unable to get pchammer to recognize the OBDLink LX as a blue-tooth device. Nothing showed in device drop-down menu. I finally got it to work by selecting serial device on COM11. It seems a bit slow but working is better than NOT working! I have some errors in the Read Properties attempt and the Read Entire PCM fails due to the PCM being locked???

So, I seem to have some problems to solve. I would really appreciate some insight on where to go with this. Thanks in advance for any replies to this post! I'm listing my first attempt with console display and the debug log:

Hi JHSimpson,

Welcome to the site and PCMHammer!

Sorry you're having issues.

First off, Windows and Blue Tooth is simply a nightmare ... I personally would NEVER recommend a Blue Tooth VCI!
However, the LX is known to work, it is a very slow device!

I do not recognize that OsID: 9365085, and neither does PCMHammer, that makes it broke before you start.

I can build you a custom build with that OsID no problem, however I suspect you also have something else not right either.

Are you doing this in vehicle ??
Or on the bench using a Bench Harness (recommended) ??

Edit;
COM11 Tells me you also might need some port cleaning in Windows.
FMI See here: Windows COM Port Cleanup

Can you confirm you've converted the factory PCM to a P01/P59 PCM with this swap? A 99 Yukon 5.7+60E would have come with a Vortec BlackBox PCM, which isn't supported by PCMHammer at this time.

Ah ha, one of them things I do not know, the year/model vs PCM lines.

I don't know anything about the Blackbox PCM either, I do know there is some code for it in PCMHammer, have never heard of anyone using it on a Blackbox either.

Simple way to find out, let's try reading it, can do no harm other then eat a little time, not a big deal to me!

Thank you ScarabEpic22!
