There is Dimented 24x7s flash tool, but there have been reports of it bricking the PCM when you write the OS. You would still also need to buy an AVT-852 cable at ~ $300 by the time you include post to AU.
Have you read the FAQ? For lots of information and links to significant threads see here: http://pcmhacking.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=1396
Re: Mafless ls1
Yeah I have that app but never used it. Those AVT lead's I though were a lot dearer than that. That's not to bad. Might need to hunt down a VATS off LS1 bin and a PCM for a play.

Re: Mafless ls1
I guess mainly there is dimenteds LS1 app.. although I believe that may be a bit of a risky hit-n-miss for full flashes, plus the lack of (public) definition files available for the LS1's is a downfall too.Dylan wrote: What alternatives are you aware of Tazzi? Non commercial?
Not much else non-commercial public apps other then Ants app I think?
Theres one more Iv 'heard' about along with a couple pics, but Im thinking the kit is a tad on the illegal side since from what I was told. Looks like the kit uses definition files from another software and had support for LS1,E38 and E40. I think the cable that is being used is an AVT but in a different box to try disguise its appearance. Both tuners were told not to talk about the kit with anyone if they wanted to continue using it. (Sounds a bit like fight club!).
Not heard anymore about the above, I was just asking what they were using for reading/writing using the custom key they found with my app

Dimented has public fully defined xdfs for the 01/02 OS.
Mine doesnt currently have write and since its a spare time project and not my #1 priority dont wait for it. But do subscribe to the release thread if you want notification of any progress.

Re: Mafless ls1
Like all xdfs they suit an OS. Its the 2001/2002 OS. It was used here and in the states. Since the os update is unreliable you'd want to start with the right os and just update the cal.http://www.gearhead-efi.com/Fuel-Inject ... CM-Project!
Theres also a less complete xdf for the 03/04 xdf here https://pcmhacking.net/forums/viewt ... f=3&t=3845 with the checksum plugin. It turned out the plugin wasnt required for checksums, only for the operating system sum, but since thats not user editable you dont need it.
