The OBDLink MX+ should do more than 128 bytes at a time shouldn't it??

[edit]
Oh wow, my Sparkfun shrunk to 128 byte packets. bah humbug!
I get why ...

I've never tried with an MX. I thought it would work, but I have a note saying that it won't, so I dunno.

@gampy, if your able to test different packet sizes with your hardware and send a pull request that sets it appropriately based on device ID string that'd be great :)
Have you read the FAQ? For lots of information and links to significant threads see here: http://pcmhacking.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=1396

Already added a else if() for the SparkFun, Still bounds testing, IIRC it could only handle 245 + 12 on the Receive, forget what send was.

@PeterTremonti has a MX+ and has offered to help test, funny thing is, the MX+ should be detected, it's match is STN2255, that is what his tool reports.
I've suggested he try the new version, send a log, go from there.

Huston we have a problem!
(At least I do)

I assumed (Arrrggg) that Read (download) works as good as it used to, was really only fully testing writing (uploading).

After getting mind blown with the following comment in my post notes.
Holy gulp ... Send at 2048, kernel uploads in 4 packets WHAM!
On the SparkFun!
However, time wise it is less then 4 tenths of a second faster over the complete upload at 2048*4 then 1024*8 packets.
So, 1024 is good.
Then, went to test MaxReceiveSize on the Sparkfun, it would not finish ... Switched to the Allpro, tried, failed, rebuilt with pure repo code (non of my mods), still fail.
Then I failed, Asleep!

A bit of log from earlier this AM.

I had inlaws in town for the weekend and left my scanner in the car I'm letting yhem borrow. I'll try and test the MX+ tomorrow sometime.
Available tools:
VCX Nano GM wifi (VXDIAG NANO-PLUS-V1.2 2020.10) (STM32F407 VTG6 ARM brand processor)
VAS 6154 Clone (VW6154-V1.0 1850) Looks like the VCX Nano but not as complicated.
Mongoose ISO/CAN
VAGcom HEX+CAN (HC8198369 Rev. B)

Gampy, I suspect that's due to either the timeout being too short or the MaxReceiveSize being too large. Only way to find out is to test with different values of each.
Please don't PM me with technical questions - start a thread instead, and send me a link to it. That way I can answer in public, and help other people who have the same question. Thanks!

Re: PCM Hammer - new ls1 flash tool

I see in the PCM Hammer log above that the recognized device is a OBDX Pro VT. Where can someone get one of these? Or is this the device that Pete is developing with another guy? I think this is the site they are putting together now for future release:

Yes it's that device, and "another guy" is who posted that log. :)
