P01 and P59 Operating Systems

They go by many names, P01, P59, VPW, '0411 etc. Also covering E38 and newer here.

Is there a list of OS's that were put on the 0411?

What's the latest and greatest?

Thanks

There is various information around the place but not one list in one place that I am aware of at this stage. 12202088 was the most common on 01/02 model years in Australia and common in the states too. 12225074 was used on 03/04 model years of commodores in AU. Some of my mates had cars which had '2088 tunes on them I moved them up to 2004 tunes on '5074 as the tune was further developed and still compatible with the vehicle. It also fixes a flat spot at the top of third. Technically thats a fix in the calibration, not a problem with the OS though. 12212156 was used for the longest and on the largest number of platforms in the USA and AU, so if your planning on building your own COS that has the widest vehicle compatibility.

A matrix would be awesome ... for both P01 and P59.

I suspect one could assume (ugg) that the numbers are sequenced, I read elsewhere that 12202088 was superseded by 12208322 and that holds to that theory, but I hardly doubt there was 6,233 versions betwinx them!
I'm sure GM used some kind of logic for the numbers.

So I guess it's time to start collecting OSID's ... Might as well include assured factory bins as well.

P01 (512k)
12202088
12208322
12212156
12216125
12225074

P59 (1m)

Yeah the numbers are sequential but dont apply to just operating systems. They apply across all of GM I think. Certainly calibration segments too including every module in every car.

You can start writing up a list based on data from here if you like? And you will get multiple vehicle matches for a number of OSID too, it'd be worth documenting that too.

Look in holden, hsv, chevrolet, pontiac, gmc etc LS1B = P01

I gotta think about this, I'll tinker and collect in the meantime.

I'm not sure I can do this, it's a shame, I can do the work, I got the time, I've done similar for another brand.

The problem is I'm not a GM brain, my GM knowledge is pre eighties, it takes years to learn these details.
You folx down under, Sorry, I barely know what a Holden is ...

Am I willing to learn, Well hell ya!

I just don't know the GM basics!

Simple things that any GM tuner should know Like:
E38, E39 they are a newer Ecm?, thus not a PcmH target?

Yep, newer, can bus. Maybe (likely) something we'll look to reprogram one day, certainly a valid topic for discussion now... actually ive been thinking maybe I need to start up a can bus discussion area as it probably suits this audience.

While feeding my brain some GM food the other day I stumbled on this Techline Information System, thought others might enjoy it's fruit.
