Does the older versions (< 4.0 ) save bins, I mean can you open a bin, modify it and save it ... No credits.

Re: WARNING HP Tuners MPV1 DEAD
I wish I had read this prior to lending it to my friend that has 4.0.
Only lent it as his one died and he had to keep the dyno going while his v2 was sent out.
I haven't used hp tuners since 3.3 as I use PCMTEC these days.
The guys at vcm said that once it is used on 4.0 and onwards it no longer can be used on a 3 version of the program..
Does anyone know what updated the cable as I was told there was no normal ok to update firmware as hp use to have.

Re: WARNING HP Tuners MPV1 DEAD
it does it automatically - there is no way to stop it. it happened to mine but failed during the update.
i managed to bring it back by plugging it into a laptop that had an old V3 on there. even the latest V4 that killed it kept failing when trying to repair/update

Re: WARNING HP Tuners MPV1 DEAD
I use it everyday and am fully up to date on version with no issues on my MPVI1 Pro cable.
It did suck they took away opening *.bin files in the software but using a bench PCM to flash/pull get's around that. Just a little more time consuming.

In short, was telling people to stop asking him to downgrade their device which was bricked from using hacked software.
And also name/shamed a guy that owns a tuning shop.
Annnnnnnnnddddd went on to explained the reason to why what he is doing is legal ect ect.
Was quite amusing to listen to. Just had it rolling in the background while programming.
