WARNING HP Tuners MPV1 DEAD

They go by many names, P01, P59, VPW, '0411 etc. Also covering E38 and newer here.

i accidently launched the scanner with my old mpvi cable today and it started the firmware upgrade so i unplugged it.

I've attempted to recover using an old backdater version and even that fails on the opsys 2 erase.

Any suggestions?

I even tried using an old 2.24

I suspect if your key is issued by hptuners you have nothing to worry about.

I do have a proper key. i just dont like their enforced update shit & knew that they bricked a heap of people's cables because of it. just like mine now appears to be.

I have the new mpvi2 cable too, but I use my efilive cable to tune majority of stuff. mostly use it to cross-check parameters every now and again.

it wont even update on the latest version.

Curious, if you had a legit key, will hptuners replace, repair, or at least add your licenses to a new interface?

Q7. When I upgrade my MPVI Standard or Pro to MPVI2, will my existing licenses and credits be transferred to the MPVI2?
A7. Yes. All licenses will transfer to the MPVI2 and all GM, Ford and Dodge credits will be converted to Universal credits. You must return your MPVI Standard or Pro to HP Tuners to process the upgrade.

They won't be able to pull the licenses from the mpvi1 since it's bricked..

Glad to hear you got it working. Just curious, was the firmware upgrade completed? What firmware version are you running?
