I finally unbricked my P01 and P59 PCM.

They go by many names, P01, P59, VPW, '0411 etc. Also covering E38 and newer here.

I finally unbricked my P01 and P59 PCM.

Post by 5150 »

I'm beyond excited right now! I successfully unbricked a P01 and P59 PCM with my newly acquired GQ-4x4 with ADP-019 adapter. I've been wanting to accomplish this task for quite sometime and finally pulled the trigger. This is my first ever SMD R&R and I got the PCM to finally wake up on my second attempt. Thank you to everyone on this forum that has provided amazing information and knowledge to help me finally overcome this hurdle.

Yes, the Chip Quik did amazingly well. I didn't even have a template for the pads. I just ran a line across both sides and and it sucked the the prongs right down to the pads and aligned the chip perfectly.

This is something I need to attack and learn ... Maybe now that it's hibernation time I'll do it, lord knows I have enough boards to practice on.

I recorded everything for the video today and I'll upload it to my YouTube channel this weekend.
