Not sure, it could have been my P01/P59 loom that damaged it, I didnt realise when I first hooked it up that I had a non-standard pin used for B+ that worked fine on the other pcms, but is used for something else on the p04. :x Going to give them the benefit of the doubt. International shipping from the US is a killer (more than the PCMs) :(

My bench harness:

Pin 19, Switched Battery (ignition)
Pin 20, 12V Battery
Pin 58, Data
Pin 60, Ground

12v is fused.

I'll check the V6 wiring diagrams before I use it...

Same pinout I have, havent tried a P04 though.

Is there a few part numbers for the _04 that we can search/look for? Happy pickup one also.

That is the standard pinouts and is correct. I built my desk loom way back, probably 8 years ago, I just expected it to work since its worked all this time on p01/p59. Its not an ongoing problem, just the kind of thing that burns you every so often doing this type of stuff.

Hi all,

Tazzi, both the 2004 Olds Alero I had, and the 2005 Chevy Venture that I have, use the LA1 3400 V6. They both use the same PCM:

2005 Chevrolet Venture PCM Tag.jpg
I am sure there are others, but these two I know are used.
