Hello! I hope that everyone here is safe and well during these crazy times. Both my wife and I feel super lucky to be super busy.

I was trying to read a 2004 Express Van 12586243 PCM, 1 meg AMD flash P59, this morning and I got the very same error at the end of the message that cmaje72 got. It seems to get to the very end of the read and then the error appears and there is no way to save the file. I'm using the OBDX Pro VT with a USB connection. I'm using the latest version of PCM Hammer 014. I've got good voltage, I'm on the bench reading with my bench harness. I read several other 12586243 P59's this morning with no problems at all. I've also attached the full Results and Debug Log as a .txt file to this post.

So thought I would post this in the name of testing if it helps. Here is the error I get at the very end of the full read (same as cmaje72):

Well, I think I might have found my problem from my last post about the P59 PCM that would fail at the very end of a full read.

I decided to try and read it again. Twice to make sure. Both times is read perfectly. So what was different? This time, the USB cable that runs between the OBDX Pro VT and the computer was NOT lying across the top of my bench top power supply. My bench top power supply is a crusty old analog thing that kind of makes a fair amount of noise. So I'm guessing that the USB cable was picking up some unwanted signal. I need to find a better bench top power supply...

Hiya Gampy,
I don't have the ability to convert those efilive files to .bin files. Thanks though.

@In-Tech,

There are a couple bin's in the Stock LB7 Duramax collection ...
15166853-Duramax-LB7-2002-Auto.bin
15189044-Duramax-LB7-2004-Auto.bin

They are 512k files, no clue if they are what you're looking for or not ...

Hi Guys,

Haven't checked in - in a while - decided to have a play with PCM 14 now we full access on P59 pcm - just reporting in that using a VXDIAG J2534 device with PCM hammer 14 - I have read my P59 1mb AMD Holden ecu with no problems - also wrote a new os onto it, tried updating vin, also updated write parameters, updated calibrations - the works all with no problems. Did a full write back to original os - no problems whatsoever.

All on the bench.

Great work! :punk:

Thanks Gampy,
I was really looking for a stock 2001 file. No matter, I decided to try a 2002 because I wanted to fix the parameters area and get rid of the tuner lock. But, alas, it won't accept the kernel for even reading. The test write failed horribly too because it doesn't recognize the OS structure. It's still an intel 28f400 and I was able to find the boot pin so that took care of that problem and was able to read the three pcm's my bud had without brute force. They were all 2002 and it turned out 2 of them were tuner locked too. At least I got one good read and the files you posted. I don't do any diesel tuning so this is more of an exercise of repair.

Anyway, here is a .rar folder of the bins and the attempt logs using an AVT, OBDX (1x and 4x) and an ObdWiz cable. Let me know if you guys want me to try anything. I can always burn some new 28f400's I have and install if all else fails. I also never got around to trying the usbbdm(I had one of NSFW's 3d boards printed and installed the pogo's). I'll have to see if the same footprint works, at a glance the boards are similar but not quite the same so I'll have to look closer.

You're Welcome In-Tech.

I'll see if I can get my hands on one (LB7 PCM) and see what it would take to add them to the supported list.

Question, Why do you use rar?
For us Windows users it requires a third party app or the use of an online conversion site.

-Enjoy

I've used WinRar such a long time I can't exactly remember. The compression is better than winzip, I sorta remember winzip trying to take over the world like microsoft did and I want to say some GM stuff was compressed with WinRar too, .tz or something. I'll try to remember to zip it

Thank you, I know I will appreciate it ...

In case you didn't know, Windows 7 up has Zip built in.

I have a distaste for Winzip as well, the exact reason for my comment, Winzip does rar, I just won't install it on my workhorses ... $$$$
