They go by many names, P01, P59, VPW, '0411 etc. Also covering E38 and newer here.

os9381344 4l80e bin?

Post by tt03 »

I am curious as to if anyone has a 4l80e bin that matches this os? I am attempting to segment swap the transmission diag/cal but cant find a 4l80e bin that matches the os and ive looked quite a bit. This is for a 2000 chevy silverado, Thanks!

I have a TunerCat 2000 6L 4L80e .cal with that os and will have to convert it to .bin

Give me a few minutes.

Question for the moderators and others here. I quickly burned this into an 0411 I have handy and sucked the file out. The serial and seed/key is fubar and can be fixed, should I spend the time to fix or just post for this gent so he can grab whatever else he wants from the .bin file? The rest of the file is fine, just the parameters section gets fubar'd sometimes when doing this operation. Shoot, I can probably fix faster than I'll get a reply but would still like to know for future posting.

Yours has good serial and seed/key. We both have the same trans segment but slightly different engine and speedo segments and I think a couple other small things. I think yours is fine for what he needs and will save me a few minutes :)

@In-Tech To answer your question, you can post whatever you like so long as there is no issue with copyrights, and if there is something weird about it, then its good to document that. If its something like broken seed/key i'd encourage fixing it because its probably going to trip someone up one day, but I think its better to post something with a note to point out a quirk if its going to help than not at all.

Hiya antus,
yep, agreed, that is what I was thinking. We never know where .bin files will end up and it's always better to post a known good file than one I know has problems. I fixed my file so here it is in case it has something different than yours and is needed in a future search.

Another quick question, The bin provided is a 4x4 however my vehicle is a 4x2. Doing the segment swap with just the trans diagnostics and calibration wouldn't mess with the fact that its 2wd correct?

Maybe antus or someone else knows for sure. I don't think the 4wd flag means anything. I've seen plenty of 2wd with the 4wd flag enabled. It never hurts to check other files and this is something I don't know for sure anyway.

edit: Through the years I have seen plenty of applications have the 4wd flag active, it seems all gm does is turn off the diagnostics looking for the 4wd switches. I've seen this in the SS 6L 4L80E 2wd trucks every time. I'm curious what you find and your results. Pretty sure this might even go back to the "black box" days. After all the surgeries and know I still didn't come all the way back from the anesthesia stuff each time, I don't trust my memory as much
