Post by tt03 »

Curious as to if anyone has an XDF for this OS(12587603). I have looked and looked and haven't found anything. If anyone can help its greatly appreciated!! Please let me know if there is a newer OS or what is needed to be done? Thank You!

I've continued to do research and have only seen to downgrade the OS to 12587603. Would this work? I am doing drive by wire as well.

12587603 is the best OS to use on the 1mb P59 PCMs. There are both DBW and DBC calibrations for. And all kinds of transmissions, too.
Please don't PM me with technical questions - start a thread instead, and send me a link to it. That way I can answer in public, and help other people who have the same question. Thanks!

Alright, I used "UniversalPatcher" to change the Vats as that was all that's needed, do you still recommend I swap over? I haven't tested it yet so still don't know for sure.

I'm confused ... the only OS ID you mention is 12587603.

However, if all you want is VATS off, I would not change OS's, that can be done by hand ... If you're going to want to Tune, then yes, you'll need to change OS's.

As stated already, 12587603 is the most supported 1m OS.
If you are going to change OS's, I suggest you find a binary that is as close to your vehicle as possible ... Don't use a Corvette binary on your Truck!
How they handle other things is different, like the Fuel Gauge for instance!

So all I'm looking to do is change vats, I used UniversalPatcher to change the value of "VTD" from 00 being the serial vats to 02 being disabled, is this correct? I flashed the pcm and had no issues. I'm also curious as to how it can be done via hand? I have an understanding of software/programming(student going to college for software engineering) and am curious. Thanks for your reply as well!

Sounds right, no personal experience using UP to do so though, don't even know how to do it in UP.

By hand I mean by editing the bin with a hex editor ...

Okay I just tried and it doesn’t want to start, fuel pump doesn’t sound like it’s kicking on and starts for about 2 seconds and dies. So I believe vats is still enabled, how would I go about editing the bin? I don’t mind doing so, or maybe I can post the bin and you walk me through? I’m honestly curious as this is intriguing to me.

May I add I've already downloaded and installed "Neo". I've loaded a bin and am looking around, don't completely understand what I'm looking at but I have a gist. Thanks!

Here is the screenshot of my hex editor while using a comparison. Is this correct to disable vats?
