How to make 01 5.7l vortec 0411 pcm to run 5.7 ls1

I have an 0411 pcm from an 01 express van 5.7 vortec. How do I to about changing the parameters with Tuner pro so that it will run my 5.7 ls1. I used the bin from the pcm and a 01 camaro ls1 dxd in tuner pro. It shows to have options for changing engine. But will making just that change also change the things in the ecm to run the ls? I'm still a little new to this part. I posted a screen shot of the initial read on my 0411. I was told to keep my current OS because it has all the options all ready.

I assume your doing an ls swap into something, is there going to be needs for other then engine and transmission control ...

OsID:12208322 is a supported OS, however if it were me, I would find a OsID:12212156 LS1 bin and use it ... It is a bit newer, a few more options.

There are folks here that know a ton more about this then I, hopefully they will squawk up if I'm misleading you, then we'll both learn!

That's what intended to do the first time . I guess I went down the rabbit hole and got lost. I would rather use the bin the os you suggested. That's what I may do to simplify things.

If I were you ...

I would do a quick detailed write up of what you want to do, your desires and expectation, what you have to work with (vehicle, motor, trans, etc...).

There are some brilliant folks here that can and likely will steer you right down the correct path.
I am not one of those, I have done many many swaps, never an LS swap, never will.

Hello,

I'm not one of those brilliant people though I dabble here a little. There is a strong caution against directly changing the engine type and size in Tuner Pro - I'm guessing it would cause a fatal checksum error, a PCM-brickable offense maybe. Try to find a variant of the 2156 OS that had your 5.7 liter LS1 engine in it from GM (this DOES exist) and also contains whatever transmission you desire.

Otherwise, you will need to do a segment swap or try to fix checksum errors with Universal Patcher. Or simply edit your 8322 OS and move ahead. I run a copy of 8322 in my 70 El Camino with no trouble at all.

There is and I agree to a point, however I believe it's because not all elements that need to be changed have been identified yet, i.e. steps to accomplish it successfully.

Checksums are easy to fix.

[edit] Help has arrived! ;)

I have multiple ls1 bins. Corvette, Camaro, auto, manual. Specify what you need. You have a proper interface to flash I assume.

I'm just trying to change my current pcm to run a ls1 5.7 with manual transmission(I'm using an older non-e auto trans). I'm fine with just rewriting the 0411 to another bin. I planned to use hptuners for tuning. That's what I currently use for everything else.

2001 ls1 5.7
Very mild cam
11.1 compression
Corvette exhaust manifolds
Truck intake w/stock injectors
700r4 trans

It's going into a 95 jeep yj

2001 to 2002 ls1 5.7 with manual trans bin needed. I will use pcmhammer to write it.
