I was just literally looking at that thread. Lol.
Now to find an xdf to use with it.. that way I can use tuner pro to make all my initial adjustments.

Yes sir. I had another xdf I tried but it didnt populate everything in tuner pro. Like no vin, no trans and all DTC disabled.
That xdf you just posted gave it a vin , manual trans and everything else is there

I tried to save the bin after a few little changes. Tunerpro keeps saying one or more checksums could not be updated

that'll be the operating system segment, and unless your an advanced user patching code that doesnt matter. but post your bin up here if you'd like us to check the checksums that matter are updated. Its a pitty so many XDFs actually do the operating system segment, causes more problems than its worth for normal use.
there will be a checksum plugin that will make the OS segment checksum work properly, but you need to know which one it is and install it on your system. Otherwise you can update the XDF so that it doesnt include the operating system checksum anymore.

How do you find out what plugin the xdf uses ??
All I see is the <pluginmoduleid>9a53f579-d1c9-40c6-8691-7a54fa789d3b</pluginmoduleid>
How does one know what dll ...
Thank you!

Re: How to make 01 5.7l vortec 0411 pcm to run 5.7 ls1
Exactly - and therein lies the problem. But in this case I can tell you that's one of mine. And this is where it gets murkier - since my early release was stolen, the attributions ripped out and it sent to people on ebay from where it then spread around the internet, it could be that one too. And now we have version hell because there are multiple plugins with the same ID and Im not sure what the best thing is to do here. I'll attach my copy of the plugin as it was originally released which will work the same anyway.
But I think the better path forward would be to take the plugins out of the XDFs, and put them back in only if and when the XDF gets a code patch that it can apply, and so only the XDFs that need it. And in that case it'd probably be better to swap over to Joukoy's https://github.com/joukoy/gm-checksum-plugins which I believe works the same way as mine based on viewtopic.php?f=42&t=3845#p85328 but in that case the GUID is original and the dll is maintained, whereas I dont plan to do any more work on mine, and the stolen ones should be forgotten.
Its a pity tunerpro cant tell you the filename it expects, or something more meaningful than a GUID.
Code: Select all
./oseplugin/LS1_checksum_plugin-1.1/TPChecksumPlugin.cpp:#define PLUGIN_GUID "9A53F577-D1C9-40C6-8691-7A54FA789D3A"
