Delphi P10 PCM (used for GM Inline 4.2L)

They go by many names, P01, P59, VPW, '0411 etc. Also covering E38 and newer here.

I have found more information in regards to the P10 PCM, commonly found in 2002-2005 Chevy Trailblazers and GMC Envoy, and a few others using the 4.2L inline 6-cyl. I have identified the flash chip made by AMD, and I am attaching photos of the board and a close up of the flash chip. I am also attaching documentation by AMD about this flash chip and also the pinouts for the connectors. I have not been able to identify the processor used. Most of the other chips are brightly colored and reflective with no observed marking, even under a microscope. I plan to use a sniffer program to capture a reflash using this PCM and a Tech2 in the near future. I am also working on the P12 generally seen in 2006 and 2007 Trailblazers and Envoys and will be posting similar data in the future. My hope is to help the guys who made PCM Hammer have the information they need to add support to PC Hammer for these PCMs.

Hi, darkman5001

Can you lift the memory chip and read the content. It will clear lots of things about the slave stuff and some hardbuild code at upper part of the chip which is not accessible by other means.

Okay I have successfully removed the flash chip however I need to get an attachment for my chip programmer before I will be able to read it.

Happy to help any way I can, been tuning these for 17 years now! :) They're getting more popular in swaps now too, so being able to use something open source would be great.

Awesome. I am ready to do testing on that PCM also whenever Gampy is ready. Also I ordered the two sockets I need for my chip programmer to read both the P10 and the P12 flash chips. Hopefully I am able to read them.

I was finally able to find an adapter board to solder the P10 flash to so I can read the flash off of it. Hopefully I see it in about a week and then we can start breaking it down so we can run some tests and hopefully eventually get it working with PCM Hammer and Universal Patcher. That is my goal.

This ain't in my wheelhouse, however I believe they have 'IC Test Clips' so you don't have to lift the chip.

I know nothing about them other then they exist and they can pop off if you're not careful with them ...
