Bench harness and VCX Nano, cannot get full read p01\p59

They go by many names, P01, P59, VPW, '0411 etc. Also covering E38 and newer here.

I use mine with gm software, but that is another story. To use it with pcmhammer, you just need the j2534 driver. The vx manager software will have all the info about your license. If you don't use vx manager every 60 days your license expires, and the driver won't work, and tool won't function.

Btw, it works with Forscan very well too once you get this resolved.

When the VX nano switches to 4x speed, this requires a good strong connection with the engine computer without any noise/interruptions.
My guess is the communication line is noisy, resulting in either the ECU or VX nano to drop back into 1x VPW mode, meaning loss of communication.

Try untick the 4x mode in pcmhammer and see how it goes

Re: Bench harness and VCX Nano, got read, can't WRITE?!?

I had ground to PIN 1 on blue main PCM connector, swapped it to 60 for PCM Hammer an voila, it's reading like a champ now.

For PCM Hammer and j2534 (duh read bench harness set up)

But I digress, now that same set up won't take that read on my v8 PCM and full write to another p01. I'd like to overwrite my v8 box to a current v6 box, as back up. Saw this and thought possible. viewtopic.php?f=42&t=7513&p=110275&hili ... 01#p110275

And here I was able to write file back to same p01 and OS that I had just read a few minutes prior. Just want to clone for back up PCM on little turbo truck.

Logs here.

Cannot read p59 and only successful read on single p01 v8 controller earlier. Cannot clone or read others p01's either, which has to be something easy I am missing again?!

p59 fail then I can still read Details from it.... :)

You can only read/write to 4.3l v6 p01, the 3.8l is a p04. What do you mean swapped it to 60? I don't have my bench harness in front of me, but I've read and write both with it and never had a problem. Not sure what you're doing wrong, but it's on your end.

I could not find this, but upon further looking, it's in the Select Device screen near the bottom. Unchecked it and got a successful read on a p59 immediately. Pic for future readers how to uncheck 4x in PCM Hammer inside the choose device window:

Then after that I was able to take my initial v8 p01 read and over a v6 p01.
Logs So, question is where's the link or method of cleaning up signal for this bench harness?

I raided what I had for wall jacks and even went through several from the thrift store now too.
