PCB's arrived at a friends place up in QLD, he's express posted them here, should get them tomorrow.

DHL charges an extra $35 as we're in a 'remote' region so its cheaper to ship to a capital city and forward on.

I'm thinking instead of autodetect code for 11p, 12p, stock etc, I'll rely on a config file on the SD card. It'll contain the TX string, the RX expected length and offsets for each value you want to read as well as where to place it on the screen, thresholds for colors etc. I think this will make it suitable for the largest range of applications?

We can upload our config files here for the most general use of the display for those that can't be bothered creating their own

Sounds good. Will there be a guide on how to setup your own config for screen layout etc?
Any luck with getting this to run of the obd port on vr vvs commodores yet? I don't need logging just want to use as a display.

So far so good!

I'll write up a config guide once I get the code up and running. If there's anyone here interested in helping develop the code, please pm me.

One wire should be fine but I don't have a vs or VR here, only a VP and a handful of pulsars which all don't have the 8192 chip which I think yours does? Either way the protocol is the same so I don't expect any issues.

Yes, it has a dimming pin you can connect a dash light to or parkers to set a lower level, configured in the config file too (high and low brightness levels)

Tried joining TX and RX together and connecting it over 1 wire to the ecu, worked fine so i think VS will be fine too

I'll need to grab the Vernier's to confirm though it looks a little wide for a 52mm pod. Would fit in that space you have behind it beautifully with a 3d printed frame
