good log pg2

Post by sprattzvx »

I got some questions if anyone can be bothered answering, so im gonna ask em all in one hit in preference to repeated posts. what the hell i can only ask.
Recently had a tp tune sent to me based partly on some log files i sent, and partly on another setup very similiar to mine. Im happy with the tune. Its changed the car completely.
Ive been logging with rt and it looks like the tunes wisely been setup on the conservative side, seeing around 10 max timing at wot. Ive also got a mtx wb installed and seeing around 11.3 af wot. Ive been looking for a decent write up on w/b input for tprt so i can properly reference a/f in relation to other data on the running graph in tp. I havent given the car a good caning, and i wont be doing it untill i get the wb setup in rt. Ive read bits n pieces about wb in tp. Im using a usb interface. If you can link me a complete how too forget the following questions.
1.Which pin on the interface is wideband input? Or do i setup the mtx usb and assign a comport and direct tp to that comport in the adx?
2.Do i need to edit the adx file?
3.im seeing small amounts of kr when off boost and decelerating, but none at wot. If i take a short log can someone with knowledge take a quick look. Im suspecting false knock.
4.why are uploads disabled
The cam makes power way up the rev range but need a good wb log before i feed it too much.
car is Vx L67 cooled an cammed.
Thanks.

You dont hook the wideband to the interface cable ,you connect it to the ecu.
As far as i know you can only hook a wide band up to 808 /3082 running $12p code for logging with tunerpro.
You could also use vr / vs injector voltage monitoring pin on these ecus but you would have to change the adx.
Not sure about vx l67 ecu ,but unless you can disable an input and use that pin to connect the wideband to ,and then modify the adx your out of luck.

Little hijack

VN5000

Was wondering about the injector voltage monitor..
Is there any changes needed to a standard VR auto PCM to hook a wb up?
I've hit the same snag got an o2 and no way to get it into a realtime log...
If it's just a mod to the ADX it'll save me a headache..

I dont believe it is that simple. I think holden202 and vl400 know a bit more about this, but a code hack is needed to make it use another source for injector voltage, or itll throw your fuelling out if you hijack that output.

have a read of this thread then post here again if you have questions still

https://pcmhacking.net/forums/viewtopi ... itor#p7149

hopefully VL400 can advise on if this mod is different on VR

hmmm ... just had a look at wiring diagrams .... looks like VR V6 auto has the wire D7 for injector monitor, all the other diagrams i have for v8 and manual don't have it.

Had a read.
Already running a nvram and realtime bmza.
Looking down the thread the v8 bins are labeled as modded for WB.

Sooo do I need to disable something or will the error loaded by a voltage problem hold and
Allow the WB input without skewing injector pulses???

New toys mean learning curve..... Bugger

The WB modded bin always uses the battery voltage for injector compensation (like the early ECUs did) instead of the injector feedback line so nothing is skewed and you get a non-defaulted value in the ALDL data stream (factory substitutes the wideband for battery voltage in your data stream). You can cut the wire and add a wideband to that - its not great resolution as its a 0-25.5v input and your only using 0-5v of it from the wideband but does help with tuning.

The A5 code is similar in that if you just wire up the wideband it will skew the voltage - the difference is it will only skew it for a few seconds until a code 57 is thrown (you can reduce the malfunction timeout so it gets thrown instantly though). It then substitutes the battery voltage but leaves a non-defaulted (ie will show the wideband value) value in the ALDL data stream for logging. So everything works like normal  Same issue on not much resolution on the feedback line for your wideband 0-5v signal.

Thanks again VL :)

I hoped that was the case.
I'll adjust the error timeout and get on with it.

Holden202's post had a calc so I'll start there...

Thanks guys
