VS Memcal - Help

Post by doubledip »

Hi .. im new to flashing Memcals but not to chip flashing... do a fair bit of LS1 work and they are easy compared to these .hahahah.

my problem is i am trying to remove security from a VS chip. I have read the memcal in my willem programmer and then modified it with tunerpro and then burn it back (after erasing UV ) the memcal

car wont start at all (even with the VATS bypass box)

I have even tried reading the stock tune from on memcal which starts the car and then burning that onto a memcal and trying... but just ont do it.

how do i know i am choosing the correct chip in the willem programmer.. the markings on the chip are nothing that really identify it

has the following
014
07957
B9525TB

3 others i have tried and have similar markings... I have been choosing 27C010 or similar (ie NM27C010)

it is becoming very frustrating and if anyone can give any pointers it would be great

what voltages are you running on the willem (just USB or aux 12v)

still runs with the wrong checksum just get error 51 immortality had the same issue with 27c010's in the willem then we found that jumper was up not down makes it suit other chips by the time he changed it he had burned all his 27c010's so hasnt had a good one to try since moving the jumper it was the only hardware difference between my burner and his might have fried his chips they still dont work after changing the jumper

when you change the bin and save it that can cause checksum issues ....

i have erased and burnt 010 chips no worries so it should be easily doable.

i have no doubt it is easily done but mine arent working.. when it writes to the chip then verifies it is fine but if i read it then sometimes they com eback blank again... i assume it is all to do with the programmer and setting it up correctly but not sure what

eprom = uv erasable
eeprom = electronically erasable

this is how i normally set mine up.
in the eprom list go eprom -> 27Cxxx -> 27C010
