V6 ecotec 3800. Tuning ls1 Pcm

Post by JMS-3800 »

I have done 99% of the wiring

just a little unsure on est bypass wire & Crank signal wire

Do i hookup Crank signal wire to 18x Crankshaft reference or to Crankshaft Reference out from DFI Module???????

Next step Is the PCM...

Has anyone modified an LS1 Pcm to run a V6 Before..

Need to know what to do

I have Hp Tuners / EFI Live & MongoosePro

If anyone has worked it out please share this info with us.

so you want to run an ecotec on a LS1 PCM ?

crank and cam signals are going to be the main issue, need to make sure you have the right signals to keep the LS1 pcm happy, i think the rest should be fairly straight forward.

Reason being...Just about any tuner can tune an ls1 ecu with Hp Tuner & Efi live these days...
Very easy to upgrade a tune from a Maf tune..to Mafless...2 bar and 3bar.

fair enough, seems alot of trouble to goto just cause a tuner can't use the stock system.

thats a 5 liter, not a v6. I would hazard a guess that loom isnt using the factory ignition module. hes probably tapped into the hall effect directly and is using a single ls1 coil driven off the pcm directly to fire into the dizzy. seeing as how a v6 has no dizzy, it would be more difficult for you.

at a guess I would say you need to throw away the DFI, and run the crank sensors directly to the pcm, then run a set of 6 ls1 coils directly off the pcm. will be interesting to figure it out.

doing a bit of a google. found the v6 one now. the ultimate converisons guy says on one of the forums that the bin is modded (possibly o/s hack??) and the pcm is physically modded as well to acheive this?

edit: looking at it again. id be willing to bet hes either modded the hardware of the pcm and / or made his own programmable igniton interface to talk between the ls1 and DIS module. IE: the ls1 pcm it thinks its receiving the 24 tooth crank signal and driving coils directly but the DIS module thinks its its receiving the ignition control signals from a delco.
