VP V6 no injector pulse

Post by Splasho »

Hi
I have a VP series 2 v6 and auto in a hiace van. Everything was running fine. Check engine and other lights and gauges are not connected.
Nek minnit.... Have spark but no injector pulse.
There is battery voltage at both terminals at each of the red and blue wires on each injector to earth and the noid light shows nothing when cranking. The same voltage is shown at D15 and D16 on the ECM and each reduces to about 9.5 volts when cranking.
The DFI module and CAS have been replaced and a second ECM has been swapped out with the same result.
What do I look for next?
Are both ECM's faulty?
It's doing my head in.

It's not a ground problem is it? How's the ECu ground?

sounds to me like a wiring fault... the DFI operates independently of the ECU during cranking.... you can unplug the computer and still get spark. check the ECU has power at B1 and C16, and the pink ignition wire (I forget which terminal). also check the 4 wires which run from the ECU to the DFI.... if the ECU gets no pulse from the ignition module, then it wont trigger any injector pulse.

The pink wire is A6.
I've had this on V8 before. The signal from the dissy was low. But high enough tor spark but no injector pulse.

Simple way to tell if the ECU is getting power and running code from the memcal is the TPS 5V stays on for 2 seconds after the key is turned off.

Then during cranking if the DFI is sending pulses to the ECU the fuel pump will run for about 2-3 seconds after you stop cranking. If you have a 160 baud ALDL interface would also see RPM while cranking.

Thankyou.
I have checked

C16 and B1 have battery voltage with ign off.
A6 has 0.3V with ign on
DFI (P) has batt voltage with ign on.
ALDL pink has no voltage.
What to do?

A6 pink wire has no power... it should be 12V..... there is your problem ... feed 12V to pink wire at A6 and itll fire up.
